ATLANTA, GA - Attorney General Chris Carr today released the following statement following the death of former Governor Zell Miller:

"With heavy hearts, Joan and I join our fellow Georgians in offering our deepest condolences to Shirley and to the entire Miller family. Joan first got to know Zell Miller as a reporter covering Georgia politics and later was honored to serve as Communications Director and then as Chief of Staff to Senator Miller. The impact that Zell Miller had on the lives of so many Georgians is immeasurable. He was a true public servant who will be missed and whose legacy will last for many years to come."
