Attorney General Chris Carr Commends House Vote to Crack Down on Demand for Sex Trafficking in Georgia
ATLANTA, GA - Attorney General Chris Carr today made the following statement on human trafficking legislation, HB 341, which passed through the House of Representatives by a vote of 168 - 1:
“The Office of the Attorney General applauds the members of the House of Representatives for their overwhelming, bipartisan support of HB 341, which will enable law enforcement to address the growing problem of human trafficking in our state,” said Attorney General Chris Carr. “We greatly appreciate Representative Bert Reeves’ hard work and leadership on this critical piece of legislation. Among other things, HB 341 toughens penalties for buyers, and we are confident that this bill sends a strong message to anyone engaged in these horrific acts, from a demand or supply perspective. We look forward to supporting Senator Renee Unterman as this important legislation moves to the Senate.”
