The Georgia House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed HB 397, the proposed re-write to improve Georgia’s Open Records and Open Meetings Laws. The legislation, sponsored by Representative Jay Powell, will proceed to the Senate for consideration.

Attorney General Sam Olens, a staunch advocate of government transparency, praised the action by the House.
