Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker was elected today as the Vice-President of the National Association of Attorneys General. The vote, taken at the annual meeting of the National Association of Attorneys General, means that Baker is in line to serve as President of the Association commencing in 2006. Baker’s election follows an unprecedented four terms service as chair of the Southern Region of Attorneys General, a region that stretches from Virginia to Texas.

As Vice-President, Attorney General Baker will serve on the executive committee of the National Association along with the incoming President, Attorney General Bill Sorrell of Vermont. The executive committee of the National Association of Attorneys General oversees policy and litigation strategies undertaken by the nation’s Attorneys General.
