ATTORNEY GENERAL BAKER ANNOUNCES WAYNE WILLIAMS' CONVICTIONS UPHELD
ATLANTA - Attorney General Thurbert E. Baker announced today that Superior Court Judge Hal Craig, in a 60 page order filed this afternoon in Butts Superior Court, denied relief in the habeas corpus petition brought by convicted murderer Wayne Williams.
Williams was convicted in 1982 of two murders in connection with Atlanta's missing and murdered children.
"Although this does not end the appeal process, I am pleased with the result in the habeas case. My office will continue to do everything possible to uphold the convictions," said Baker.
