ATLANTA, GA - The lawfully ordered execution of Carlton Michael Gary for the 1977 rape and murder of Florence Scheible, Martha Thurmond and Kathleen Woodruff was carried out this evening at 10:33 p.m. at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Center in Jackson, Georgia. The sentence was carried out after the United States Supreme Court denied Gary’s request for a stay of execution.
