Former State Representative Charles "Chuck" Scheid Indicted By Attorney General Baker for Tax Evasion
The Fulton County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Charles “Chuck” Scheid of Cherokee County, a former member of the Georgia House of Representatives, for Income Tax Evasion and for Failure to File an Income Tax Return. The indictment alleges that Scheid failed to file an income tax return for the tax year 2005 and that Scheid evaded paying taxes due for tax year 2003.
The indictment sought by Attorney General Baker and the Georgia Department of Revenue was presented to the Fulton County Grand Jury on Friday, January 18, 2008, and the State was notified of the Grand Jury’s return of the indictment today. Scheid faces up to 5 years in prison on the Evasion charge, and up to 12 months imprisonment on the Failure to File charge.
