Attorney General Thurbert Baker announced that his office had taken a guilty plea from Tammy Woods, a former state Department of Drivers Services (DDS)license examiner at DDS's South Dekalb Mall location, for her role in a scheme to issue a fraudulent driver's license to Harvell Hood. Woods pled guilty to Bribery, False Statements and Falsifying A Public Record. Hood also entered a guilty plea, pleading guilty to Bribery and False Statements. The pleas were taken Tuesday morning in Dekalb Superior Court before Judge Clarence Seeliger.

Hood's driver's license had previously been suspended by DDS. Woods accepted $500.00 from Hood in exchange for creating a new driver's license record for Harvell Hood in the name of Spencer Hood. Woods received a five year sentence, including 6 months of intensive probation, and a $3,000.00 fine. Hood, who had prior felony convictions, received a ten year sentence, including three years of incarceration.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Kimberly Schwartz, and the case was investigated by DDS Deputy Director of Investigative Services Lance Taylor and DDS Investigator Robert Conway.
