Attorney General Sam Olens Asks Georgia Supreme Court to Reconsider Charter School Ruling
Attorney General Sam Olens has filed a Motion for Reconsideration with the Georgia Supreme Court in Gwinnett County School Distrtict, et. al., v. Georgia Department of Education, et. al. The Georgia Supreme Court recently declared the Charter School Commission unconstitutional. The ruling displaces thousands of Georgia students enrolled in charter schools across the state.
“Today we filed a Motion for Reconsideration in an effort to protect the rights of Georgia students to have a say in their education and be placed in a school that meets their needs,” said Attorney General Sam Olens. “Charter schools offer students the opportunity to seek the excellent education they deserve regardless of socio-economic circumstances. I hope the court will accept the arguments presented in our brief and reconsider their decision.”
