Carr: Medicaid Fraud Division Secures $650,000 Settlement with Atlanta Behavioral Medicine

ATLANTA, GA – Attorney General Chris Carr today announced that Atlanta Behavioral Medicine, Inc., an Atlanta-based psychotherapy services provider, has agreed to pay $650,000 to resolve allegations that it improperly billed Georgia Medicaid for therapy services that never occurred.

Carr Continues to Push Back Against Biden Administration’s Unlawful Transportation Mask Mandate

ATLANTA, GA – Attorney General Chris Carr has joined 22 states in filing an amicus brief in support of ending the Biden administration’s mask mandate for public transportation and transportation hubs. In March 2022, Carr filed a lawsuit challenging this mandate, which was later vacated by a federal judge. The Biden administration is appealing this decision and requesting that the federal mask mandate be allowed to take effect.

Carr: Georgia Joins Nationwide Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force

ATLANTA, GA – Attorney General Chris Carr today announced that Georgia has joined a nationwide Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force to investigate and take legal action against the telecommunications companies responsible for bringing a majority of foreign robocalls into the United States. This bipartisan Task Force has one goal: to cut down on illegal robocalls.

Carr Announces Guilty Plea in Online Retail Crime Case

ATLANTA, GA – Attorney General Chris Carr today announced that Rachelle Parker has pleaded guilty to Theft by Taking in connection with a fraudulent online ordering scheme involving eyeglasses retailer Warby Parker.
