Memorandums of Understanding

The Department of Law attempts to resolve violations of the Acts as efficiently as possible. Many times we are able to negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with an agency in which they admit to a violation of the Open Records or Open Meetings Act and agree to take corrective action and avoid future violations. Training that results from MOUs is offered to both elected officials and employees, so that everyone involved with conducting meetings or providing records understands the requirements of Open Government in Georgia.
