Kathleen M. Pacious was appointed Deputy Attorney General of the General Litigation Division in 1997. She manages the tort, civil rights and workers' compensation litigation for the State of Georgia. She is also a member of the Large Loss Committee for the Department of Administrative Services which evaluates cases with significant exposure. From 1985 to 1997, she practiced insurance defense litigation in-house with Travelers Insurance Company, trying more than 30 cases. Kathleen also handled administrative hearings before the State Board of Workers' Compensation and participated in numerous mediations. Kathleen graduated cum laude from Boston College with a B.A. in History in 1982. She received her law degree from Emory University School of Law in 1985. She is admitted to the United States Supreme Court and all federal and state trial and appellate courts. Kathleen also manages the Attorney General Summer Internship Program and a Field Placement Program through Emory University School of Law.
