Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens today released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court granted certiorari in the State’s challenge to President Obama’s executive action on immigration:

“We are a nation built on laws, and the President simply does not have the power to bypass Congress and single-handedly change the law to achieve his policy goals. I look forward to continuing to defend the rule of law against the President’s unilateral action.”

Georgia is part of a 26-state coalition against the president’s immigration plan. Federal courts have ruled in the states’ favor three times, most recently in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
