Today, Attorney General Sam Olens released an invitation to submit Statements of Interest and Qualifications with regard to potential water-related litigation with the State of Florida. Submissions are due no later than September 10, 2013. The invitation is attached.

On August 19, 2013, Madeline Laruy entered a non-negotiated guilty plea to one count of Medicaid Fraud and one count of False Statements and Writings in Henry County Superior Court. Judge Wade Crumbley sentenced Laruy to 180 days in prison, followed by four and a half years probation.

On August 13, 2013, David Brannon, of Gainesville, Ga., pled guilty to one count of Medicaid Fraud (O.C.G.A. § 49-4-146.1(b)) in Hall County Superior Court. Brannon was paid almost $150,000 by Georgia Medicaid as a result of fraudulent billing.
