ATLANTA, GA –Attorney General Chris Carr applauds President Donald Trump’s Executive Order directing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Army Corps of Engineers to review and take action towards rescinding or revising the "Waters of the United States" (WOTUS) Rule, a major step in addressing Georgia's strong opposition to the Rule.

“I commend President Trump for listening to the serious concerns my fellow Attorneys General and I raised regarding the burdensome WOTUS Rule,” said Attorney General Chris Carr. “We believe that the WOTUS Rule is a clear example of federal overreach and would have significant consequences for homeowners, farmers and other entities by subjecting them to costly permits and complex federal mandates to perform everyday tasks. This action by the President is a great step forward in protecting our citizens from a web of harmful regulations, and our office will continue providing support to the multi-state coalition fighting against the Rule."
