The National White Collar Crime Center has asked Georgia’s Attorney General Thurbert Baker to serve as the Co-Chair of its Cybercrime Advisory Board. In accepting this position, Attorney General Baker will be working with law enforcement officials, private sector companies and academicians throughout the country to make policy recommendations on cybercrime issues.

Attorney General Baker will serve as co-chair of the Cybercrime Advisory Board with James Moore, Commissioner of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The Cybercrime Advisory Board held its inaugural meeting in Queenstown, Maryland from June 24th through the 26th.

In accepting the appointment, Attorney General Baker stated, “I am honored to serve as the Co-Chair of the Cybercrime Advisory Board. Today, high tech crimes such as identity theft and consumer fraud threaten working families throughout Georgia and across the country. I look forward to developing programs to protect our citizens.”

The National White Collar Crime Center is a non-profit organization funded by Congress that provides support services to state and local law enforcement agencies and other organizations with an active interest in the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of economic and high-tech crime such as identity theft, consumer fraud, cyberstalking, money laundering, pyramid schemes, and computer intrusions.
